Software Consultant & Developer, Grand Rapids

Shawn Anderson

I've always loved solving problems and playing with technology. Software seemed like the logical career choice. After interning with Atomic Object in 2003, I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a B.S. in Computer Science. I joined Atomic as an official Atom in 2004 and aside from a few years spent working for Symantec and Edmunds.com, I've been here ever since.

The work that Atomic does allows me to learn a myriad of technologies and platforms: Ruby, Java, C#, C, Rails, Ember.js, Embedded, Web, Mobile, and many more. Although I am partial to Ruby, I am definitely interested in newer languages and technologies like Clojure and Rust.

Outside of the office, I live in Holland with my amazing wife and three kids. I love tinkering with game development and Ludum Dare competitions.
