HIPAA-Compliant Mobile App Connects Caregivers with On-Demand In-Home Nursing
Atomic Object designed and developed Carol Health, a HIPAA-compliant, on-demand in-home nursing app that addressed a critical gap in affordable respite and healthcare services for family caregivers. The app enabled caregivers to quickly schedule nurse visits and allowed nurses to easily pick up shifts, providing flexibility and supplemental income. The platform supported more than 250 users and facilitated $10K/month in revenue during the pilot. It also improved family dynamics by enabling shared Care Circles that reduced emotional burdens on caregivers. The product launched successfully in alpha and beta phases within Spectrum Health before the organization shifted its innovation strategy.

HIPAA-Compliant Care Circle Feature
Designed an intuitive HIPAA-compliant care circle feature that allowed multiple family members to coordinate care and manage payments on behalf of an aging loved one—a key differentiator from traditional in-home care services. The feature helped improve family relationships and reduced caregiver emotional burden.
Lean MVP with Scrappy Admin Tools
Advocated for and implemented a lean MVP approach that prioritized the consumer-facing app. Replaced a costly backend admin build with Google Drive and Sheets, enabling faster time to market and reducing initial costs.
