Hi there! I’m Gus Schissler, a product and delivery lead with over eight years of experience in guiding teams to deliver impactful digital solutions. My work spans diverse industries, including federal and state government, nonprofits, enterprise security, and education. I focus on creating user-centered products that address real-world challenges. I specialize in product strategy, agile practices, and cross-functional leadership, which enables me to bring ideas from concept to launch with an emphasis on sustainable growth.
What drives me is the opportunity to find both the similarities and differences between these industries. I enjoy exploring how tools and processes can be adapted to fit the specific needs of each project, leveraging best practices from one sector to inform innovation in another. It’s exciting to see how agile practices, strategic planning, and even design principles can be molded to meet the unique demands of each challenge.
Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to leveraging technology to increase human capabilities, access to information, and equity. Recently, my passion and drive has taken me to projects in modernizing identity and access management, scaling API platforms, and rebuilding state agency websites.
Outside of work, I’m best defined as a maker. I currently am a blacksmith, but previously I’ve found flow as (in no particular order) a woodworker, gardener, teardrop-camper-builder, knit-and-crochet-er, home renovator, animator, and writer, just to name a few. I love learning, broadly and deeply, and sharing what I learn and the things I create with the humans around me.
