One of my first tech achievements as a kid involved successfully configuring my family’s Windows 98 PC to use an additional 2GB hard drive (seems silly to say 2GB HD now). While practically it may have been a small feat, it made a very large impact on me. I had always been interested in computers, but that feeling of triumph is what propelled my curiosity and really got me hooked.
With very little deliberation, I decided to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering at The University at Buffalo in New York where I also played Division I football. Upon graduation, I was afforded the opportunity to continue my football career. I played 3 seasons in the CFL for the Ottawa RedBlacks; winning 1 Grey Cup (Canadian Super Bowl).
Aside from my professional football experience, I also worked as a Software Engineer at Valeo, a tier 1 automotive supplier. At Valeo, I worked with a myriad of different technologies ranging from embedded Bluetooth Low Energy to web and mobile app development. I also have experience working with vehicle-to-anything (v2x) technologies like DSRC and c-v2x. I currently have a patent pending for a system that leverages those technologies, among others, to facilitate parking for approaching vehicles.
What I’ve discovered by working with so many different technologies is: I really love making things that people can interact with and be wow-ed by. This is why I’m happy to be an Atom. I mean, that’s kind of the MO here at Atomic.
