From DOS-based computer games and the original Game Boy to the Logo turtle educational drawing game, my passion for technology has been lifelong. I even built my own computer, complete with a TV tuner card to avoid buying a television. At Michigan Technology University, I was among the first to join the new Computer Engineering degree program, graduating in 2004. I discovered my strength for Computer Science and thrived as a lab assistant and camp counselor, teaching programming and robotics.
After graduation, I embraced a career that combined teaching, learning, and creating through eXtreme programming, a journey that spanned 20 years. I relished the collaboration of paired programming and the discipline of test-driven development. My projects ranged across biosciences, finance, container trucking, and survey management. These experiences enabled me to mentor others, speak at conferences, and teach classes, all while sharing my passion for Agile methodologies.
At Atomic Object, I aim to instill my love for Agile in my team and clients, ensuring successful projects and valuable software for end users. Regardless of the technology or domain, a highly collaborative Agile team thrives by applying philosophies to the process and transparency.
In my free time, I enjoy life with my husband and our Shih Tzu, Trooper (aka Storm Trooper), and a love of all things Star Wars. Summers find us at the local pool or grilling in the backyard, while winters are perfect for movies or board games. We love having friends and family join in the fun.
