I have two missions in this life: help people and make cool shit.
As a Software Consultant and Developer, I get to do both! I love spending time with someone who has a problem they don’t know how to fix and teasing out the goals, constraints, challenges and possible paths forward. When I develop, I’m constantly thinking of how I can help the other folks involved, whether it’s by nailing that seamless experience for the end user, or by crafting simple, intuitive code that’s easy for my colleagues to collaborate with. When the work I do is making someone’s life (or day) a little better, I know I’m on the right path.
I earned my B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and began my career developing computer hardware. After a few years, I became anxious to tap into my creative and visual sides, so I pivoted to web development. When I discovered the thrill of writing some code and then immediately seeing an update in the product, I was hooked right away! Before joining Atomic, I developed web applications for a real estate startup and learned so much about an industry that I never expected to tap into. One of the reasons I’m so excited to be part of the Atomic Object team is the multitude of opportunities to learn about new industries and craft quality software to serve all sorts of people.
Outside of work, I’m usually curled up with my kitty and a book or, you guessed it, making cool shit. I enjoy cycling through creative hobbies, like crocheting, throwing pottery, printmaking, painting, with lots more on my to-try list. I also love playing puzzle games, doing escape rooms, traveling, and getting donuts with my partner.
