As a designer for the last 15+ years, my role has greatly changed and evolved with the industry, but I still get to do what I love: making cool shit with cool people.
I began my career with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University and worked both in a design agency and in-house before pivoting to software and product design — and that's when everything clicked. I was practically born with a paintbrush in my hand, but I was also a massive nerd. I didn't think there was a way to satisfy both the creative and the technical problem-solving appetites in me. Software design feeds my endless curiosity and love of learning while allowing me to be creative — in how I think about and solve problems, and the visual polish on top. Not only do I get to take stuff apart to see how it works, I get to figure out how to build something completely new with some brilliant folks. Delivering software that solves client problems and helps organizations grow is the cherry on top of work I already love doing.
