In the tech industry, the image of the lone coder is often celebrated, with stories of individuals who succeed against the odds. Being the lone coder is the path of least resistance, but denies the opportunities for growth and success that can be found on teams. Securing an equal seat on a team is worth the effort. Kealy has been fortunate to spend most of her career on teams that deliberately chose to be highly collaborative. This keynote challenges the lone coder narrative by sharing the benefits Kealy has experienced and emphasizing that most successful software is created by teams working together.
