Kimberly Crawford Named Managing Partner in Grand Rapids
Experienced product leader and longtime Atom joins Jason Porritt to lead the Grand Rapids office.

Atomic Object, a custom software consultancy, has named Kimberly Crawford Managing Partner of its Grand Rapids office. Crawford joins Jason Porritt in leading the team as Jeff Williams transitions to Managing Partner of Digital Health.
Crawford joined Atomic Object as a software designer and consultant in 2015. Since then, she’s worked with clients on product strategy, led user experience design, and guided cross-functional software teams.
"Kimberly has consistently gone above and beyond to delight clients, elevate her teams, and strengthen the culture around her," said Atomic Object Co-CEO, Shawn Crowley. "She embodies what we look for in leaders: multi-dimensional talent, deep product expertise, and the ability to connect with both executives and practitioner teams."
Crawford says her decision to pursue the Managing Partner role stems from her commitment to the Grand Rapids team and the opportunities she wants to create for them.
"For me, it always comes down to the people," said Crawford. "The best way I can serve is to help put great opportunities in front of them: great clients, great projects, and the chance to do their best work."
She says she’s stepping into the role at a time of rapid change driven by artificial intelligence.
"We're in the middle of a massive technology revolution," said Crawford. "The challenges are real, but they're also what make this moment so important. I'm excited by the opportunity—and take seriously the responsibility—to ensure we build this future with as much care as ambition."
Crawford has deep ties to West Michigan. She earned a B.A. in Graphic Design & Illustration from Grand Valley State University and has served in leadership roles across West Michigan's technology and design communities, including board service with SoftwareGR and The Illustration League. In 2016, the Grand Rapids Business Journal named her one of the "50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan.”
Atomic Object was founded in 2001 and serves organizations across a range of industries. In addition to Grand Rapids, the company has offices in Ann Arbor, Chicago, and Raleigh. Since Crawford joined in 2015, Atomic Object has grown from approximately 50 to 130 employees, a 160% increase. Annual revenue has grown from $8 million to $28 million, a 250% increase, over the same time.
Looking ahead, Crawford said she hopes the Grand Rapids office continues to be known for both its work and connectedness.
"I want people to look back and say we didn't just say we care; we proved it through our actions," she said. "Not only through the quality of the software we deliver, but through the quality of the relationships we build."
