Atomic Object released its second-annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Impact Report today. The report highlights progress made in the past year and reflects on the company’s long-term, process-driven approach to DE&I.

"Reading this report makes me feel proud," said Co-CEO Mike Marsiglia. "Great work happens all the time at Atomic Object, but packaging it up in a yearly report gives us a clearer picture of our impact."

This edition provides data on Atomic Object’s efforts to recruit top talent, invest in employee development, design products with diverse users in mind, work with diverse suppliers, and expand employee ownership.

"Some of our best DE&I practices are simply best business practices,” said Marsiglia. “Things like leadership development and inclusive talent sourcing don’t simply move the needle on diversity; they make us a better company overall."

In 2020, Atomic’s leaders partnered with Global Bridgebuilders—a team of DE&I experts. They helped establish an employee-driven Diversity Action Council and implement a biennial company survey to measure Atomic Object's DE&I-related processes against best practices.

Co-CEO Shawn Crowley says that by working with Global Bridgebuilders, Atomic Object’s leaders identified sustainable ways to integrate DE&I into business operations.

"It’s not about quick fixes,” said Crowley. “Our progress has come from focusing on process over programming and working with long-term intention. This requires investment, structure, and alignment with business objectives.”

Looking forward, the co-CEOs say they’re eager to continue improving Atomic Object through the lens of DE&I.

"Curiosity and a love of learning drive us forward," said Marsiglia. "At its core, DE&I makes our company a more interesting place to work, bringing together a diverse set of people who improve the way we collaborate and solve problems for clients."
