I knew I wanted to work in computers when I was in high school. My teacher at Ramstein Air Base shared stories about the systems he built and how they streamlined business processes. I took every class he offered. In the process, I learned 2D animation, 3D animation, and the foundations of computer science. 

I love continually expanding my interests. At Michigan State University, I took up fencing which my wife and I continue competing in to maintain fitness and develop teaching abilities through coaching. I was first exposed to cloud computing at my internship. I built a monitoring system for the company’s Kubernetes cluster with Docker and Rabbit MQ. The system was a lesson in what is possible when working with the cloud and the importance of knowing the customer the software is being built for.  

Since joining Atomic Object in 2021 I have worked with Eaton, Fairlife, and Pixelberry. I have worked primarily with React/Node.js stacks deployed to AWS, Azure, and Fly.io. I am continually driven by a desire to help the people using our software do their best work and have the smoothest experience. Working closely with the people the software is for and the rest of the Atomic Team is one of the best ways to achieve that aim and one of my favorite parts of the job.

Outside the office, I paint models, play D&D, compete in fencing, and build video games in Godot and Unity. I look forward to the next technical challenge to continue teaching, learning, and collaborating on.
