Delivery Lead, Grand Rapids

Brittany Hunter

As a Delivery Lead at Atomic Object, I work with Atomic’s clients and project teams to envision, build, and launch the best possible product, and to make sure it happens on-time and on-budget. I engage closely with clients at every stage of a product’s life. At the beginning we work together to define the product’s vision and high-level feature set. During implementation I manage the product backlog, keep the product team on track and remove blockers from their path, and continuously work to mitigate risk and make sure everyone is aligned on the items of highest value. I’m energized by making sense of complex, nebulous problems and identifying the best way forward out of a host of potential solutions by applying the lenses of feasibility (technical constraints), viability (business needs), and desirability (user needs).

I've had the privilege to work with a wide range of clients from diverse industries and ranging from small startups, family-owned businesses, and nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies. With each project, I'm excited by the chance to dive into a new problem and bring fresh perspective to the team. I believe that multi-disciplinary teams produce better products, and I'm passionate about finding ways to encourage all members of a product team—from business leaders and marketing experts, to developers, project managers, and even end users—to engage more fully in the product design process. To that end, I'm involved with the Balanced Team movement, a group of thought leaders who explore and innovate in this space.

Previously to assuming the role of Delivery Lead, I worked as a Software Designer at Atomic, beginning in 2011. I've been making computers do funny, fun, and useful things since I started writing code as a preteen. I graduated with honors in 2008 from Grand Valley State University, where I studied Classical Languages.

Outside of work, I'm an avid equestrian. I ride my horses five days a week and compete in the sport of dressage at the regional level. I also love tending my large vegetable garden, experiment in the kitchen, and dabbling in carpentry.
