I built my first computer in high school. I’ll never forget the feeling of pressing the power button for the first time, seeing the fans start to whir, and eventually watching my monitor light up with information. This was the first time the “magic” behind computers felt somewhat tangible. I knew then that I wanted to look further behind the curtain and figure out what really makes computers tick.
I took my first programming course at Hope College and immediately fell in love with programming. Solving complex problems is something that many people don’t enjoy, but not me. I ended up pursuing degrees in Computer Science and Japanese and spending two summers at different large, corporate companies. There, I worked with databases and full-stack development. The projects were very interesting, but I didn’t like the corporate culture of these companies. This led me to Atomic Object.
Atomic Object’s culture and energy pulled me in and I’ve never been more excited to be part of an organization. I am looking forward to solving more complex problems and learning as much as I can here at Atomic Object!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, learning Japanese, reading books, playing classical guitar, working out, and playing video games.
