Software Consultant & Developer, Grand Rapids

Grace Du Mez

As a kid, I wanted to be a variety of things: a veterinarian, an astronaut, a florist, an antique store owner... I had a lot of things I was excited about, and I was always finding more. It wasn’t until college that I started programming.

I hated my first computer science course, but I came to see the potential that software development had for my career. I had discovered something that I could apply to all my interests and would feed my craving for continuous learning. I graduated from Hope College in 2019 with a double major in Computer Science and Religion and a minor in Math.

Software is deeply rooted in every industry and this is what makes being a consultant so great. At Atomic, we constantly work with different businesses and teams who bring all sorts of new and exciting projects to the table. I am passionate about collaborating with people to see how software can work for them. Getting to work with smart people who challenge me is the joy of my job.

When I’m out of the office, I’m a huge sports fan, mainly of the NFL and NHL. I love searching for antique furniture that I have no room for. I’m usually listening to music, chronically classic rock and rap. I like to try interesting food and beer. I’m the owner of a vintage camper. And I especially enjoy finding new things to dabble in.
