Software Consultant & Developer, Grand Rapids

Grace Du Mez

As a kid, I wanted to be a lot of different things: a veterinarian, an astronaut, a florist, an antique store owner... I had a variety of passions, and I was always finding more. It wasn’t until college that I became exposed to programming.

Although I hated my first computer science course, I came to see the potential that software development had for my career. I had discovered something that I could apply to all my interests and that could feed my craving for continuous learning. I graduated from Hope College in 2019 with a double major in Computer Science and Religion and with a minor in Math.

Software is deeply rooted in every industry and this is what makes being a consultant so great. At Atomic, we are constantly working with different businesses and teams who bring all sorts of new and exciting projects to the table. I am passionate about collaborating with people to see how software can work for them.

When I’m not working, I enjoy many different things. I’m a huge sports fan, mainly of the NFL and NHL. I love hunting for antique furniture and trinkets. I’m usually listening to music, mostly classic rock and rap. I really like to try interesting food and beer. I’m the owner of a vintage camper. And I especially enjoy finding new things to dabble in.
