My road to Atomic Object was a bit off the beaten path.
I thought I was going to work in the humanities or mental health field, but took a detour and began a freelance web design business while I found my way. With a combination of both a creative and logical way of thinking and a strong desire to understand people and solve complex problems, I gained a wide breadth of experience working with entrepreneurs and developers in a variety of fields. I describe these years as my alternative to a formal education, where I was fortunate enough to get paid to learn.
6 years of freelancing was followed by 6 years in ed-tech and 2 years in logistics. Through it all, whether refactoring code, designing an interface, or mapping out a user flow, I got a unique thrill from taking something overwhelming and complex, breaking it down, and turning it into something that feels simple and understandable. Now a designer at Atomic Object, I’ve found myself in the perfect position where my passions for problem-solving, creativity, logic, and empathy meet.
