Joanie Davis

I used to think computers were magic. When I was a kid, I knew that computers let you play games like pinball and solitaire, and you could type up things on a word processor. But I had no idea how any of it actually worked and I assumed it was far too complicated to ever learn.

I had the opportunity to take a programming class in high school, and it was there that I began to understand the path that lines of code take to become those programs running on machines that I’d enjoyed as a kid. It was both simpler and more complex than I’d imagined and it was an inherently creative process.

I studied computer science at Hope College. During my time there, I learned about the power of consulting through various summer programs and internships and fell in love with the process of bringing people’s dreams to life with my code. I earned my degree in 2018 and joined Atomic shortly after.

Outside of work, I like to read, write, listen to podcasts, play video games, and run Dungeons and Dragons games with my friends.
