Shawn Crowley leads custom software consultancy Atomic Object alongside co-CEO Mike Marsiglia. Over 20 years, Shawn has expanded Atomic from a single office in Grand Rapids to an industry leader with four offices and nearly $25 million in annual revenue.

Passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, and crafting custom products, Shawn’s abundant energy comes from working alongside people driven by building new solutions that also improve the bottom line.  

He has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between software development and successful business outcomes. Initially a technical practitioner, Shawn evolved his focus towards enhancing delivery methods, design quality, and business agility. This approach directly links software development to tangible business benefits for clients like Ford, Eaton, and the United States Pharmacopoeia.

Through board membership, Shawn helped The Right Place grow Grand Rapids’ regional Technology Council that helps businesses using tech to drive growth—increasing council membership from 4 to 55 members. He’s enjoyed speaking opportunities at academic institutions like the University of Michigan Ross School of Business to help students relate academic instruction on leadership, culture, and technology to real-world examples. Crain’s called him one of Grand Rapids’ 40 under 40 and one of the city’s 200 most influential leaders.
